My work explores the link between people, place, experience and memory. Thoughts, ideas and processes express themselves through the formal elements of line and colour, to create random and complex special patterns using drawing and painting. Each work encapsulates a period, or time on which memories are hung. Gestures are overlaid with line to trace a map of experiences. Figurative elements ghost in from time to time, both in the process and final image. I have always held a strong interest in portraiture and although the majority of work could be termed abstract, they are as much an expression of self.
