Painting

These paintings are made using metallic paint, mixed with oil and resin. The paint is poured onto a horizontal canvas which is tilted to help the material flow over the surface. The painting is then left as gravity and time act as mark-making tools often producing unexpected results. It is the unpredictable nature of this process which fascinates me, as I balance my own intentions with the action of the paint itself.
The finished work seems to preserve an element of sensuality, and the processes of nature, bound up in the industrial materials.
