Paintings by Dan Greenley // 8th-30th March 2014
Kingston Art Group warmly invites you to the opening night of:
‘Paintings by Dan Greenley’
Friday 7th March – 6.30pm-9pm
Dan’s Paintings are absorbed in an analysis of textures and surfaces, be it the Yorkshire landscape or the skin of an orange!
Mark making is of primary importance, alongside an expressive use of colour nurtured by intuition. These points of reference recede, and the landscape itself becomes less important than the marks and textures on the canvases.
The striking images on display in this exhibition span a period of the last five years since the Artist’s leaving college and demonstrate a diverse collection of charcoal drawings, textured canvases, and bold Acrylic studies.
Dan has been a member of KAG since 2009, and studied Art at Breton Hall College, West Yorkshire. He has shown at the Hanover Gallery in Liverpool, Helmsley Art Centre and the Sledmere House Gallery. This is his first solo show.
The exhibition runs from Saturday the 8th until Sunday 30th of March – open 12-4pm Saturdays and Sundays.
A Family workshop will be run to coincide with the show, see our website for further details or see our Facebook page ‘Kingston Artgroup’. We hope to see you there!
